General:
The relay is an essential automatic switching component with isolation capabilities, extensively integrated into
remote control systems, telemetry, telecommunications, automation, mechanical integration, and
electrification, as well as in various electrical and electronic devices. It's a pivotal controlling
component in modern technology.
Typically, relays include an inductive mechanism (input part) capable of responding to various input values (such as
current, voltage, power, impedance, frequency, temperature, pressure, speed, light, etc.); they also feature
an executive mechanism (output part) that can effectively switch the controlled circuit "on" or
"off"; the medium mechanism (actuator) lies between the input and output, facilitating
input value coupling-isolation and driving the output mechanism.
As a vital control component, relays generally perform the following functions:
1) Expanding control range. For instance, when a multi-contact relay's control signal
reaches a specified value, based on the contact forms, it can synchronously
change over, close, or open multiple circuits.
2) Amplification. Sensitive relays and medium relays can manage high-power circuits with
minimal controlling power.
3) Signal integration. When multiple control signals are introduced into a multi-winding relay in
a predetermined manner, the relay can achieve the desired control function by analyzing the distinct
signals.
4) Automation, remote control, and monitoring. In automated systems, relays and
other electronic elements can form program-controlled circuits, enabling automated
operations.
