Remarks:
1. Ensure that input power is DC Voltage while output power operates on AC Voltage.
2. Make sure to connect the input and output power with correct polarity for optimal performance.
3. If the SSR is managing a load exceeding 10 Amps, it must be mounted on a heat sink. For loads above 80 Amps, use fan-cooling or
water-cooling systems to ensure proper thermal management.

What is SSR? Solid State Relays (SSRs) elegantly control the power supply to connected devices, operating with the precision of electronics rather than mechanical switches. They enable the operation of high-current devices, such as lighting systems and appliances, via low-current signals like those from a standard DC source.Digital Output. SSRs activate with a nominal voltage of 3V or higher, making them ideal for use with Phidget Interface Kits or any digital output device.digital output. SSRs provide the same functionality asMechanical Relays, but offer significant advantages:
SSRs generate significantly less electromagnetic interference compared to mechanical relays, largely due to the absence ofcontact arcingfound in mechanical relays, where sparks occur internally during switching. SSRs further reduce interference by eliminating the need for electromagnets.
Mechanical relay contacts degrade over time due to arcing; SSRs, being digitally driven, boast a much longer lifespan with millions of reliable cycles.
Achieve faster switch operations with SSRs, which toggle on and off in just 1ms, compared to the slower 10ms response in mechanical relays.
SSRs possess a robust resistance to physical vibrations, outperforming mechanical relays in demanding environments.
The absence of a mechanical switch means SSRs avoidcontact bounceand function silently.
How does it work? Within the SSR, control inputs activate an LED shining across an air gap to a light sensor. This sensor, in turn, controls transistors to manage power flow to the relay's load. When a transistor is closed, current flows seamlessly through the relay, linking the load to the power supply. Conversely, when a transistor is open, current is restricted, disconnecting the load from power. This innovative use of an LED and light sensor-known as an optocoupler-efficiently couples circuit sections without direct electrical ties.
