Product Description
10A Solid State Relay - Full Isolation 1-Phase Voltage Regulator Module SSR (HHT3-U/22 10-100A)
Remarks:
1. The input power is required to be DC Voltage, while the output power should be AC Voltage.
2. Ensure the correct polarity connection for both input and output power.
3. When the SSR handles a load exceeding 10 Amps, it is crucial to mount it onto a heat sink. For loads exceeding 80 Amps, utilize fan-cooling or water-cooling methods.
Water-cooling is recommended if the load crosses 80 Amps.
4. This is a zero-cross type SSR.
Feature:
These no-contact relays utilize semiconductors, enabling high-speed, high-frequency operation with great efficiency.
Compliant with RoHS standards for environmentally-friendly operations.
Models available with both zero cross and no zero cross features.
Power elements are easily replaceable for enhanced convenience.
Conforms to both cULus and CE standards, ensuring global quality assurance and safety.
What is SSR?
Solid State Relays (SSRs) are electronic switches that control power supply to devices, functioning like a mechanical switch but without requiring manual operation. Instead, they are switched electronically, allowing control of high-current devices such as lighting or appliances with a simple low-current signal from a digital output. SSRs activate with a voltage of 3V or higher, perfect for use with Phidget Interface Kits or any device equipped with a digital output.
SSRs perform the same function as mechanical relays but offer several advantages:
SSRs generate significantly less electromagnetic interference compared to mechanical relays, eliminating issues like contact arcing-a spark phenomenon unique to mechanical relays due to the use of physical contacts that create internal sparks during operation. Reduced interference is also achieved since SSRs do not use electromagnets for switching.
Mechanical relay contacts degrade over time due to arcing, while SSRs boast a prolonged lifespan owing to their digital internals, capable of enduring millions of cycles without wear.
Achieve rapid on/off switching with SSRs, operating at speeds of 1ms compared to the slower 10ms of mechanical relays.
SSRs exhibit superior resistance to physical vibrations compared to their mechanical counterparts.
As there is no mechanical switch inside an SSR, it avoids contact bounce and functions silently.
How does it work?
SSRs operate via an internal LED linked to light sensors across an air gap. These sensors connect to transistors that open or close, thus controlling the relay's load power. A closed transistor allows current flow, connecting the load and power supply, while an open transistor restricts current, isolating the load from the power source. This LED-light sensor arrangement is known as an optocoupler, a common technique for electrically isolating circuit sections.
