What is SSR?
Solid State Relays (SSRs) revolutionize power control by electronically switching the power supplied to devices, unlike traditional mechanical switches. Achieving seamless control, SSRs manage high-current loads such as lights or appliances using low-current signals, like the ubiquitous DC signal. Digital Output. How does it work?
Internally, the control inputs are linked to an LED that emits light across an air gap to a sensor. This sensor connects to transistors that control the relay's power supply. When a transistor closes, current traverses the relay, connecting the load to the power source. Conversely, when a transistor opens, current is blocked, disconnecting the load. This LED-sensor pair, known as an optocoupler, facilitates isolation without direct electrical contact.
