Our no-contact relays utilize advanced semiconductor technology, facilitating high-speed and high-frequency operations with utmost precision.
Fully compliant with RoHS directives, ensuring eco-friendly and safe usage.
Models are available in configurations that include or exclude zero cross, offering flexible applications.
Equipped with replaceable power elements, ensuring your systems remain up-to-date and versatile.
Adheres to stringent cULus and CE standards, guaranteeing safety and reliability worldwide.
Understanding SSRs:
Solid State Relays (SSRs) act as crucial components to control the power supply to devices, akin to mechanical switches but with electronic efficiency. Unlike manual switches, SSRs are electronically activated, allowing seamless control over high-current devices like lighting or heavy appliances using low-current signals such as a standard DC signal. Digital Output Compatibility. SSRs typically switch on with a voltage beginning at 3V or higher, making them ideal for integration with Phidget Interface Kits or any setup that includes a digital output interface.
SSRs rival Mechanical Relays, offering several compelling advantages:
- SSRs generate significantly less electromagnetic interference during operation compared to mechanical relays. This efficiency stems from the lack of contact arcing, a common issue in mechanical relays where internal sparking occurs while switching. The minimized interference is also due to SSRs not employing electromagnets for switching.
- Mechanical relay contacts wear out over time due to arcing, whereas SSRs boast extended longevity due to their digital design, potentially lasting for millions of cycles when used correctly.
- SSRs offer rapid switching capabilities, turning on and off in just 1ms, compared to the 10ms required by mechanical relays.
- SSRs exhibit superior resistance to physical vibrations than mechanical relays, enhancing durability and reliability.
- The absence of a mechanical switch within an SSR eliminates issues like contact bounce and ensures silent operation.
Mechanism of SSRs:
Internally, control inputs connect to an LED, which illuminates across an air gap towards light sensors. These sensors link to transistors that either open or close, thus managing the relay's power load. When a transistor is closed,it allows current to flow smoothly through the relay, connecting the load to the power supply. Conversely, when a transistor is open, current is largely blocked, effectively disconnecting the load from the power supply. This LED and light sensor pairing forms an optocoupler, a common method of linking circuit parts without direct electrical contact.
